India’s leading speed cubers Advay Sant showcased his incredible skills in the world of speedcubing at Fastest Fingers First Pune 2024. He performed an impressive solo time of 6.06 seconds in the 3x3x3 Cube category and a competitive average of 7.64 seconds, making him unusually one of the fastest cube players in the country. Single Solve also showcased his strategic prowess. Moving on average 26.67 times at the Indian Nationals FMC 2023, these achievements include speedcubing and strategy-based activities.
Illayaram Sekar: The Record-Breaking Cubing Maestro
Ilyaram Segar, a Rubik’s Cube expert from Chennai, is a Guinness World Record holder, who has achieved many feats in showcasing his cube talent. In 2020, Segar set a record by solving 6 Rubik’s Cubes in a single breath in just 2 minutes and 17 seconds underwater. In 2016, he achieved another feat by solving 700 Rubik’s cubes in 6 hours and 19 minutes while cycling non-stop. Sekar also trained 3,997 students from Kaligi Ranganathan Montford Schools in Chennai to solve the Rubik’s Cube. This set a world record for the most people to solve the cube simultaneously. A medical professional with a love for cubing, Bhargava Narasimhan undoubtedly has golden fingers! He first gained notoriety for holding the Guinness Book of World Records for the fastest time to solve five 3×3 cubes one-handed, at 1 minute and 23 seconds. He was born and raised in Chennai.
With a solve time of 9.52 seconds, he previously held the Asian record for the 3×3 one-handed single. With an average of 10.20 seconds, he also set the Asian record for the average of five in one hand.
Additionally, in the past, he held national records for Megaminx, FMC, 2×2, 4×4, and Skewb. But it’s not just that! In many of these WCAs, Bhargav was the first Indian to rank in the top 100.
